pas in a fresh and modern beach hut in the heart of Palma. Open kitchen all day and cocktails at sunset on its dr
The first time we stepped into Brutus in Palma’s El Terreno, we instantly felt that mix of surprise and curiosity you get when a restaurant looks nothing like you imagined, and everything like a place you know you’re going to love. After just a fifteen minute walk från Ocho Suites, we found this Italian lovely trattoria.
The doors opened into a space that felt both bold and comforting: concrete ceilings, geometric lines, warm wood, soft lighting. A modern Italian trattoria with a personality of its own. And we remember thinking: This is going to be good.
Within seconds we caught the familiar scent of wood-fired dough from the pizza oven, the sound of chefs calling out in Italian, and the energy of a place that’s buzzing but not frantic. It felt like walking into someone’s stylish home in Milan, only we were in Palma.
A BRUTALIST SETTING THAT SOMEHOW FEELS LIKE ITALY
Brutus sits inside a striking brutalist building, all exposed concrete and sculptural shapes. It could easily feel cold, but somehow it doesn’t.
Inside, the team blends design with soul:
soft lighting
warm wooden accents
earthy tones
and that open kitchen energy that instantly makes you feel part of the experience
Out back, the leafy courtyard terrace is one of the spots I always recommend — especially in the evening when everything glows a little.
WHY BRUTUS FEELS LIKE ITALY - AND FEELS LIKE HOME
There’s a sincerity here that’s hard to fake.
Brutus won us over with:
the open-plan kitchen, where you can watch pasta being pulled and pizzas sliding into the oven
the wood-fired pizzas, sometimes topped with a poached egg, sometimes with whatever seasonal ingredients they’re excited about that week
handmade pastas like ragu pappardelle, pesto linguini, and dishes where the sauce clings in all the right places
seasonal antipasti, burrata with proper local olive oil, and desserts like a ricotta-pistachio cake that genuinely made me smile
Everything tastes fresh, confident, and deeply Italian — but with a creative spark that makes Brutus feel modern.
MORE THAN A MEAL - A TASTE OF ITALY IN PALMA
I’ve been here for brunch, long lunches, and one of those late dinners where no one watches the time. The food always hits the right notes: generous, soulful, and unfussy.
The wine list is full of beautiful Italian bottles, and the staff know exactly what to pair with what. Service is warm but polished — friendly without hovering.
It’s one of those restaurants that feels right whether you’re:
sharing plates with friends
on a date night
or in the mood for a quiet dinner with good pasta and even better wine
BRUTUS - ITALY IN THE HEART OF EL TERRENO
You’ll find Brutus on Carrer de Robert Graves 2, and honestly, it’s one of the places redefining dining in this part of Palma.
It’s modern yet nostalgic, bold yet comforting — a restaurant with roots in Italian tradition but an eye on the future. A place you visit once and immediately add to your mental list of “we’re coming back here.”
WE RECOMMEND
Start by sharing a wood-fired pizza (the crust is incredible) and then move on to one of their handmade pastas like the ragu pappardelle. The seasonal antipasti and burrata with local olive oil are perfect to begin with, and if you like something sweet, the ricotta-pistachio cake is a must. Pair it all with a glass from their Italian-focused wine list and, if you can, grab a table in the courtyard — it’s the best seat in the house. Enjoy.
