The first time we ate at Sa Roqueta, we understood immediately why people talk about it with so much affection. After a fifteen minute walk from Ocho Suites, strolling by the ocean, we arrived at this lovely little restaurant in Portixol. There’s nothing flashy about it, no neon signs, no loud music, no gimmicks. Instead, you get something far better: honest seafood, warm service, and the soft sound of the marina just a few steps away. Walking in feels a bit like being welcomed into someone’s seaside home, relaxed, familiar, and quietly special.

A LOCAL FAVORITE FOR A REASON - SA ROQUETA SEAFOOD

Sa Roqueta has that rare mix of unpretentious charm and culinary confidence. The room is simple, the menu isn’t long, and that’s exactly the point. This is a restaurant where the ingredients do all the talking — and where the Mediterranean feels like part of every plate.

Maybe that’s why locals love it. Maybe that’s why I love it too.

WHAT´S ON THE MENU AT SA ROQUETA? FRESH, SEASONAL AND STRAIGHT FROM THE SEA

When you’re here, the focus is clear: fresh fish, seasonal produce, and simple perfection.

Some of the dishes I still think about:

  • Sea bass baked in salt — delicate, juicy, perfectly seasoned

  • Grilled red prawns — rich, sweet, and best with your hands

  • Tuna tartare with citrus and herbs

  • Homemade aioli with crusty bread (don’t skip it)

There’s nothing overworked or overdecorated — just clean, bright Mallorcan flavors that make you want to linger over every bite.

THE TERRACE OVERLOOKING THE MARINA

If you can, sit on the terrace. It’s one of those settings where lunch effortlessly drifts into the afternoon. Boats sway in the harbor, the breeze softens everything, and a glass of chilled rosé suddenly feels like the only reasonable thing to do.

The staff have that gentle intuition, they appear when you need them, disappear when you want to enjoy the moment. It’s a rhythm that suits Portixol perfectly.

A HIDDEN TREASURE NEAR OCHO SUITES & KITCHEN

What we love most is how un-touristy it feels. No laminated menus, no pushy signage — just a neighborhood restaurant serving great seafood to people who appreciate it.

And the fact that it’s walking distance from Ocho Suites & Kitchen makes it the ideal stop for guests who want something authentically Mallorcan without going far.

BOOK YOUR TABLE AT SA ROQUETA IN PORTIXOL

If you’re imagining a relaxed evening by the water — the kind where conversation flows easily and the food feels like it came straight from the sea — Sa Roqueta is exactly where you should be.

WE RECOMMEND

Start with the homemade aioli and bread, then share the grilled red prawns or go all in on the sea bass baked in salt. Pair everything with a chilled local rosé, sit on the terrace if you can, and let the marina set the pace. Sa Roqueta is best enjoyed slowly.
