There are many beaches in Mallorca that we love. Long sandy stretches, quiet coves and dramatic cliffs, but Calo des Moro is one of those places that truly stays with you. The first time we visited, we stood at the top of the cliff path and could hardly believe the color of the water. Bright, crystal-turquoise, framed by rocks and pine trees… it looked like something from a dream. Driving from Ocho Suites and kitchen, this is a great daytrip.
GET HERE EARLY - THE REWARD IS BREATHTAKING
For years, this spot was considered one of Mallorca’s hidden treasures. Today, it’s well-known, and once you see it, you’ll understand why. The beach is tiny, only about 30 meters wide, so if you want space for your towel, you’ll need to arrive early. Really early. But the reward is worth it: a breathtaking little bay that feels like a perfect postcard.
Caló des Moro is not the easiest beach to reach, and it’s not ideal for children since there is no sand to play on and the access is steep. But if you’re comfortable with a short hike and love swimming in clear water, this is one of the best beaches in Mallorca.
HOW TO GET TO CALO DES MORO
The beach is located on the southeast coast, about 6 km from Santanyí and roughly one hour from Palma by car. The last stretch takes you down narrow dirt roads, and you’ll need to walk the final part on foot. It’s absolutely worth the journey.
WE RECOMMEND
Bring everything you need for the day, water, snacks, a hat for the sun, and good shoes. There are no shops, no rentals, and no facilities, which keeps the beach wonderfully natural but also means you must come prepared. If you explore the cliffs on one side of the bay, you’ll find a small cave that looks like a natural pool. Many visitors jump in from here, but only at their own risk.
It’s a beautiful little spot for photos or a quiet moment overlooking the water.

This beach is a beautiful spot, but it’s definitely better to visit off-season when it’s less crowded. :)
Beautiful beach!
