Cala Llombards

Some beaches feel like secrets, and Cala Llombards is one of them. And it´s a great daytrip from Ocho Suites. We love it. The first time we arrived, walking down the sandy slope framed by pine trees and low cliffs, I could hear the water long before I saw it. And then, that moment, the cove opened up in front of me: crystal-clear turquoise water, soft pale sand, and a calmness that felt rare even for Mallorca.

A PEACEFUL BEACH SURROUNDED BY CLIFFS AND PINE TREES

The beach is small, just 55 meters wide, but it stretches far inland, making the bay feel wonderfully sheltered. The water is usually calm here, perfect for swimming, floating, and slow snorkeling along the rocks. You’ll see a mix of locals, families, and many Germans who love this area and often rent houses nearby. Despite its popularity, Cala Llombards still feels intimate, like a place you could easily spend the whole day without noticing the time.

Sunbeds and umbrellas are available to rent, but there’s still plenty of space for towels and barefoot wandering.

HOW TO GET TO CALA LLOMBARDS

Cala Llombards lies about 10 km from Santanyí on Mallorca’s southeastern coastline. No buses go all the way down to the beach, which is part of why it has kept its peaceful character. The best way to reach it is by car, and from Palma the drive takes roughly 50 minutes.

Once you arrive, the bay is tucked away between cliffs and pines, hidden enough that it feels like a tiny discovery each time you visit.

If you feel like exploring, walk along the cliffs toward Santanyí and you’ll come across Es Pontàs, a natural stone arch rising out of the sea. Its name means “the big bridge” in Catalan, and it’s absolutely worth the short walk for the view alone.

WE RECOMMEND

Just a few steps from the sand you’ll find Chiringuito Cala Llombards, a relaxed beach restaurant serving meat, fish, sandwiches, ice cream, and everything you need for an easy beach day. Arrive early, this is the kind of place where you’ll want to stay from morning until the sun starts to dip behind the cliffs.

And if you have time on your way home, stop by Santanyí. The village is known for its chic, bohemian shops, stylish boutiques, and plenty of cozy cafés and restaurants. It’s the perfect way to end a beautiful beach day.
