La Perla

There are restaurants you hear about long before you ever visit them, and for us, La Perla was one of those. Created by the well-known Swedish couple Åsa and Emilio Ingrosso, La Perla has become a staple of Palma’s dining scene, and after finally going ourselves, we understood exactly why their tables are booked night after night.

La Perla has two locations in the city, each with its own personality:

  • one in Santa Catalina, set in a charming old townhouse with warm lighting and that cozy trattoria feeling, not far from Ocho Suites and Kitchen.

  • and the other in Can Barrera, offering beautiful outdoor seating that feels made for long Mediterranean evenings

Both restaurants share the same essence: welcoming, intimate, and full of dishes that taste like they were made with genuine passion.

ITALIAN CLASSICS WITH A PERSONAL STORY - LA PERLA

What we love most about La Perla is that the menu actually means something. Emilio Ingrosso has been a restaurateur since 1994, running several restaurants before creating La Perla. The dishes here aren’t chosen at random, they’re recipes with a special place in his heart and his family’s history.

And honestly, you can feel it.

From the fresh pasta to the slow-cooked sauces and the creamy burrata, everything tastes deeply comforting, like food that has been perfected over years, not invented overnight. It’s Italian cooking with personality, warmth and heart.

Every time we’ve eaten at La Perla, we’ve left feeling like we’ve been a guest in someone’s home rather than just another diner.

TWO LOCATIONS - SAME HEART, SAME FLAVORS

Whether you choose the Santa Catalina townhouse or the breezy outdoor setting in Can Barrera, La Perla gives you that unmistakable feeling of dining somewhere special.

  • Santa Catalina: intimate, candlelit, perfect for a date night or a cozy dinner with friends

  • Can Barrera: more spacious, airy, ideal for warm nights and larger gatherings

And in both places, the staff make you feel genuinely welcomed, friendly, attentive, and clearly proud of the food they serve.

ALWAYS FULLY BOOKED - FOR GOOD REASON

If you want to eat at La Perla, here’s our best advice: book early. Weeks in advance if you can.

It’s one of the ten best restaurants in Palma (at least according to us), and the demand is constant. The atmosphere, the service, and the food all work together in a way that makes the experience memorable every time.

Whenever friends visit Palma and ask for an Italian restaurant recommendation, this is where we send them.

WE RECOMMEND

Start with the burrata or one of their beautiful antipasti, then move on to a pasta dish, anything on the menu is a safe choice. If you love truffle, you’ll be very happy here. And definitely save room for dessert; the classics are done exceptionally well.
