A HIDDEN GEM IN PALMA - TOQUE DE QUEDA IS RUSTIC, CHARMING AND HAS UNFORGETTABLE FLAVORS

There are restaurants you stumble upon… and then there are restaurants you remember. For us, Toque de Queda became one of those places from the very first visit. Tucked away in a former bakery, this quirky little spot feels like stepping into a piece of Palma’s history. The owners kept the original interior intact, including an old Arabic oven, one of the few still remaining on the island, and it gives the whole restaurant a warm, rustic soul that’s impossible to fake.

The space is divided into three small dining rooms, each with mismatched furniture and its own personality, plus a tiny outdoor area with colorful chairs that always make me smile. It’s intimate, slightly chaotic in the best way, and completely full of character.

But what truly makes Toque de Queda special is the people. The owners are incredibly friendly and personal, the kind who greet you like an old friend, remember what you like, and make you feel instantly at home. The service is heartfelt, effortless, and exactly what you want when you’re in a place this charming.

FOOD MADE WITH LOVE

This was one of the very first restaurants we tried when we moved to Palma, and we’ve been coming back ever since. Everything feels simple in the loveliest way, yet the flavors stay with you long after the meal ends. There’s always a sense that the food is made by people who actually care.

The atmosphere is lively and warm; you’ll hear laughter drifting between rooms, dishes clinking from the open prep area, and the occasional burst of Italian or Spanish from the kitchen. I love that the staff stays the same, year after year, it’s part of what makes this place feel like home.

If you’re seated at the big communal table, you’ll share it with other guests, which is part of the charm. It doesn’t feel like dining in a restaurant, it feels like being invited into someone’s house. A home away from home.

WE RECOMMEND

If it’s your first time at Toque de Queda, start with these favorites:

  • Zucchini carpaccio — light, fresh, and beautifully seasoned

  • Rolled prawns — a dish I always order

  • Charcuterie boards with selections from Italy and Spain

  • Their focaccia — truly excellent (and they offer gluten-free bread)

This restaurant is easily one of the ten best in Palma, and once you’ve been, you’ll understand why.

And the second best thing is that this restaurant is located just a short walk from Ocho Suites & Kitchen.
