When we take the whole day off for a rooftop experience, we go here. Some rooftops feel like a viewpoint. Almaq Rooftop at Es Princep feels like a whole day plan. Perched on a 5-star boutique hotel right on the beachfront, this rooftop is one of those places where you arrive “just for one drink” and suddenly you’re still there hours later, watching the light change over the Mediterranean and Palma’s skyline. The view is spellbinding and we love it here.
We love how it shifts throughout the day: calm and slow in the afternoon, then more vibrant at night when the music comes on, glasses clink, and the city starts to glow.
BEACHFRONT ROOFTOP LUXURY IN PALMA´S OLD TOWN - THE BEST ROOFTOP BAR I PALMA
Es Princep is an urban boutique hotel with a rare location, right by the sea, but still within easy walking distance of Palma’s historic streets, as well as a ten minute walk from Ocho Suites and Kitchen. The rooftop itself is expansive and elegant, with a pool and a generous lounge area that makes it easy to settle in and actually relax.
Their motto “whatever you want, whenever you want it”, sets the tone. The service feels warm, confident, and attentive, like they genuinely want you to ask for what you’re craving. Another sparkling water? A snack? Something refreshing and citrusy? You’ll feel taken care of without it ever becoming too formal.
ROOFTOP POOL, COCKTAILS AND SKYLINE VIEWS
This is the kind of rooftop where the view keeps you turning your head. It overlooks the coastline and gives you a panoramic sense of Palma’s layout—sea, city, history, and harbor in one sweep.
A quick note to plan your visit:
Sunbeds are reserved for hotel guests only. But you can still enjoy the rooftop’s lounge areas, order drinks and food, and soak in the atmosphere.
During the day, it’s relaxed and tranquil—perfect if you love rooftops for the calm, the sun, and the feeling of being slightly removed from the bustle. At night, it becomes more social, with a lively mix of hotel guests and visitors coming up for music, cocktails, and that unbeatable sunset mood.
YOU FIND ALMAQ ROOFTOP IN LA CALATRAVA
Almaq Rooftop sits in Palma’s old town area La Calatrava, and the rooftop views are genuinely special because you get both the coastline and the city’s icons. This is one of the best rooftop bars in Palma.
From up here you can spot:
the Palma Congress Centre and parts of the eastern district
Hotel Portixol to the left
straight ahead: the waterfront and Paseo Marítimo, with Parc de la Mar
to the right: Palma’s harbor, the cathedral, and the old town rooftops
If you’re the type of traveler who loves understanding a place geographically—seeing how the city meets the sea—this rooftop is a dream.
DAY - TO - NIGHT ATOMOSPHERE: CALM AFTERNOONS AND SUNSET ENERGY
Our favorite way to do Almaq is to treat it like a slow build. Come earlier when it’s quieter, choose something cold to drink, and let the afternoon drift by. Then stay as the sun starts to drop and the whole terrace becomes more alive.
That moment when the Mediterranean turns deeper blue and Palma’s warm tones start to glow?
That’s the Almaq sweet spot. We have no problem spending the whole day here.
FUN FACT: PRIVATE JET CHARTER SERVICE
A very Es Princep detail: they even offer a private jet charter service in collaboration with Deluxe Travel Group, and the airport is only about a 10-minute drive away. It’s a fun little reminder that you’re in a very high-end, “everything is possible” kind of hotel.
WE RECOMMEND; THE PERFECT ALMAQ ROOFTOP DAY IN PALMA
If you want the ideal plan, we highly recommend it like this:
Start your morning with a nice walk along the beach promenade right in front of the hotel
Head into the old town nearby and browse shops, galleries, and little streets
Then return to Es Princep and spend the rest of the day on the rooftop with:
something delicious to eat
a cold drink in hand
and a front-row seat to Palma’s sunset
Almaq Rooftop is one of those places that makes Palma feel effortlessly glamorous—without losing that laid-back island rhythm.
