Sky Bar at Hotel Hostal Cuba, guest having drinks and DJ playing music, overlooking Santa Catalina

We love going here when we want great music as well as an amazing view over the city and harbor. The atmosphere is always on top and it´s just a few minutes walk from our hotel, Ocho Suites and kitchen. There are places in Palma that stay with you long after you’ve left, and the Sky Bar at Hotel Hostal Cuba is absolutely one of the best roof top bars. Perched high above the colorful streets of Santa Catalina, this rooftop feels like stepping into a quieter, softer version of the city. It’s the kind of spot where the day begins slowly, with sunlight sliding over terracotta rooftops… and ends with music, cocktails, and the hum of evening energy rising from below.

Whether you're visiting for breakfast, a pre-dinner drink, or simply to soak in the atmosphere, the Sky Bar offers one of Palma’s most unforgettable perspectives.

SKY BAR AT HOTEL HOSTAL CUBA - ONE OF THE BEST ROOFTOP BARS IN PALMA

From the moment we stepped out onto the terrace, we were met with sweeping, uninterrupted views, the shimmering ocean, La Seu cathedral glowing golden in the sun, the harbor dotted with sailboats, and the vibrant city stretching in every direction. It’s impossible not to pause for a moment and just take it all in.

Mornings up here feel serene and almost private. We grabbed a coffee, enjoyed the sea air, and watch Palma gently wake up beneath. When we came back in the evening, the ambiance had completely shifted: sunset colors, upbeat music, and a chic yet relaxed crowd make it an incredible spot to start your night.

And the best part? You don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy it. Everyone’s welcome.

THE CHARM OF SANTA CATALINA

Just listen to the name of the street, the magic street, Calle San Magín 1, in the heart of Santa Catalina. Doesn´t it sound lovely? This neighborhood has a unique vibe, almost like a little village tucked inside Palma. It’s lively, creative, and full of character, yet surprisingly calm during the day. As sunset approaches, the transformation is magical: restaurants fill up, bars open their terraces, and the whole area seems to glow.

It makes perfect sense that a place called Magic Street (“San Magín”) leads you to a rooftop like this. It might just be one of the most visited rooftops, and one of the best rooftop bars in Palma.

A SLICE OF PALMAS BEAUTIFUL HISTORY

The iconic building that hosts the Sky Bar dates back to 1904. Santa Catalina was originally a fishermen’s neighborhood, which explains its charming narrow streets, maritime feel, and authentic local character. Today, it’s one of the most sought-after districts in Palma, a blend of tradition, design, and energy.

OUR BEST TIP TO START OR STOP YOUR DAY HERE

If you're visiting Palma for the first time, or even your tenth, the Sky Bar is a must.

  • Breakfast with a view: A gentle start to the day with the city stretching out before you.

  • Pre-dinner cocktails: The perfect golden-hour stop before heading out for tapas in Santa Catalina.

  • A moment to reset: Whether alone, with friends, or with someone special, this rooftop has a way of making time slow down.

There’s simply something special about experiencing Palma from above.
