Duke restaurant in palma looking in from the outside

If you’re visiting Palma de Mallorca for the first time, especially if you’re staying near Ocho Suites & Kitchen, there’s one dinner spot we always recommend people add to their list: Duke Restaurant in Santa Catalina. We love trying new places, but Duke is one of the restaurants we always return to.

It’s not “fine dining” in the stiff, quiet sense. And it’s not just another buzzy neighborhood restaurant either. Duke has that sweet spot energy: relaxed and stylish, creative but approachable, and consistently packed with people who clearly know where to eat in Palma. The kind of place where you walk in, hear the music, catch the smell of something sizzling from the kitchen, and immediately think: Yes—this is going to be good.

DUKE RESTAURANT PALMA: SURF VIBES, BOHO ENERGY, SERIOUS FOOD

Santa Catalina is one of Palma’s most food-loving neighborhoods. It´s lively, local, and full of personality. Duke fits the area perfectly. This a probable one of the best restaurants in Palma. The vibe is a little “surf shack meets boho chic,” with an artistic, laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to settle in and stay for one more round. And we just love coming here, especially for the green thai mango salad with crispy duck.

It’s ideal for a foodie night out that still feels easy. No pressure, no pretension, just a seriously good meal in a place with great energy.

WHAT MAKES DUKE ONE OF THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN PALMA

What makes Duke stand out is the way it brings global flavors into a Mediterranean setting without feeling confused or overdone. The menu is playful and confident, with dishes that pull inspiration from Asia and Latin America, while still feeling fresh, sunny, and Mallorca-appropriate.

You’ll notice it in the flavors—bright, punchy, layered—and also in the way the menu works for different kinds of diners. Whether you’re here for seafood, vegetables, or slow-cooked meat, there’s always something exciting to order.

A few reasons why we keep coming back:

  • Globally inspired menu – Think Thai, Peruvian, Korean, Mexican influences

  • Fresh, local ingredients – Flavor-forward, and thoughtful about quality

  • Natural wines & craft cocktails – Curated to match the food, not compete with it

  • Relaxed atmosphere – Fun, social, and easy to love

WHAT TO ORDER AT DUKE: OUR TOP PICKS

If you’re only going once (or if you want to do it right on your first visit), these are the dishes we´d point you to immediately:

  • Thai green mango salad – honestly, it´s to die for. Fresh, spicy, crunchy and bright. This is the dish people remember. This is a next level salad.

  • Mexican pulled beef tacos – rich, comforting, and messy in the best way.

  • Korean crispy shrimp croquettes – crispy outside, flavorful inside, and dangerously snackable.

My personal tip: order a few things for the table and share. Duke is at its best when you build a meal that feels like a little tour through the menu.

NATURAL WINES AND CRAFT COCKTAILS WORTH STAYING FOR

Duke is also one of those places where the drink list is part of the experience. The natural wines feel carefully chosen, and the cocktails are made to pair well with bold flavors—fresh, balanced, and not overly sweet. It’s the perfect spot for an aperitif that turns into dinner… or dinner that turns into a nightcap.

WHERE IS DUKE RESTAURANT IN PALMA?

Duke is located in Santa Catalina, and if you’re staying at Ocho Suites & Kitchen, it’s an easy walk—making it a perfect plan after a day of exploring Palma’s old town, the cathedral, shopping, or a beach stroll. Santa Catalina is also a great neighborhood to wander before or after dinner. The streets are full of life, especially in the evening.

WE RECOMMEND

This is important: Book ahead! Duke is popular for a reason, and it’s often full, especially on weekends and during peak season. If you can, book a slightly earlier table and let the evening unfold from there.
