Assaona Gastrobeach Club Palma

Just a short walk from Ocho Suites and Palma’s city center, Anssia Gastro Beach Club is one of those places where you arrive for lunch… and somehow end up staying until sunset. The moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by the soft sound of waves, the smell of something delicious drifting from the kitchen, and that relaxed, easygoing beach-club vibe that immediately slows your pace.

We love coming here, whether it’s for a quiet coffee by the water, a long lunch with friends, or a cocktail as the sky turns pink. There’s something special about being this close to the ocean while still feeling so connected to the city.

WHERE GOOD FOOD MEETS THE SEA-ANSSIA GASTRO

Anssia has built its reputation on high-end cuisine and local ingredients, and it truly shows. The name itself comes from the Mallorquin word “assaonar”, meaning to season, which perfectly reflects their philosophy: fresh produce, simple preparation, and letting the ingredients speak for themselves.

Over the past few years, Anssia has become incredibly popular, not just for the food, but for the experience. If you love walking barefoot in the sand, sipping cocktails by the shore, and enjoying high-quality dishes with zero pretense, you’ll understand why people return again and again.

What we appreciate most is how effortless everything feels. It’s elegant, but not intimidating. Beachy, but never sloppy. Just good energy, good music, and really good food.

THE PERFECT LOCATION FOR THE MEDITERRANEAN SOUL

You’ll find Anssia right on the beach, only minutes from Palma’s Cathedral. It’s a lovely walk along the seafront, or a quick ride if you choose to bike. The club sits just before Portixol, close enough to the city for convenience, but far enough to give you that holiday feeling.

And unlike many beach spots, Anssia stays open all year, which makes it a favorite for both locals and visitors during every season.

COCKTAILS, MUSIC AND THOSE FAMOUS SUNSET HOURS

If you come in the afternoon, stay for the sunset. The DJs play on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 4–7 pm, creating that perfect golden-hour soundtrack. It’s lively but never overwhelming — more chilled beach lounge than night club.

Their cocktails are excellent too. we’re especially fond of the “manzana oriental”, but a classic Cosmopolitan is always a good idea with an ocean view.

Just note: reservations must be made by email at least 24 hours in advance, and it’s worth it.

WE RECOMMEND

  • Come early for a relaxed lunch, then stay through the sunset

  • Order a manzana oriental or a Cosmopolitan as the DJ starts

  • Book your table a day in advance, it fills up quickly

  • Sit as close to the water as you can. It changes everything.

This was our favorite spot for drinks while cycling from Palma’s city center all the way to Portixol and Arenal! :)
