Unser internationales Restaurant und Bar Le Bistro befindet sich im Erdgeschoss und bietet eine Speisekarte mit französischen Bistrogerichten auf Basis lokal produzierter Zutaten.

WE BRING DREAMS TO LIFE
Our entrepreneurial journey within restaurants, hotels, conferences, food and interior design began back in 1999 when Maria founded Hufvudsta Gård Boutique House in Solna – a meeting place where great food, wine, and design were at the center, just as they are today. Hufvudsta Gård quickly became a highly appreciated destination for many companies. When Johan joined the business a few years later, our shared drive to create places people truly want to return to grew even stronger.
We call it with love and wild dreams.
In 2008, we opened the boutique hotel Görvälns Slott together. The castle underwent a complete transformation, and the project is still evolving. There is always a room to renovate or a new idea to develop – a process we genuinely love.
We see it as a living hotel that is never fully finished, where inspiration and renewal guide us every day. We gather ideas from all corners of the world – from exciting culinary combinations and interior design to exquisite wines from family-owned vineyards – and bring them into our destinations, creating places guests long to return to.
IT’S A FAMILY BUSINESS
Beyond the two of us, our family includes our children Adam, Elina and Wilmer, and our cat Dino. We are immensely proud of all our children, who are now grown and actively involved in our destinations.
In 2017, the whole family decided to take a break and moved to Palma de Mallorca. The plan was to slow down for a year and let the children attend the Swedish School on the island to experience something new.
But as often happens in the world of entrepreneurship, curiosity took over. We were given the chance to take on a new hotel project in central Palma – a city we truly love, known for its vibrant atmosphere, best restaurants and Mediterranean lifestyle. The result was the opening of Ocho Suites & Kitchen in 2019, a boutique hotel in Palma featuring seven exclusive apartment-style suites and a restaurant that quickly became a cherished part of the city’s hotel and dining scene.
All of this inspired us to name our parent company Workation Group – a reflection of our belief that work should be joyful, meaningful, and integrated into life. For us, entrepreneurship is a lifestyle and a passion rather than an obligation. We wanted to create the same feeling for our team; a workplace where joy and togetherness matter just as much as results.
As an extension of our work and our passion for hotels, we also run the hotel blog Hotelhunter.se, where we share reviews and impressions from hotels around the world. When we travel, it’s not unusual for us to switch hotels three times – we are endlessly curious, deeply passionate about hotels, food and design, and eager to stay in tune with the world around us.
